Acrylic on masonite panel.
I did this one sometime after 911 when everyone was so shook up about the anthrax scares. I saw people as being paranoid, but trying to put on a relaxed front. Also check out the work of my best friend Mark (arum) Masters [link] He's AMAZING ! |

What a crazy time... I remember how buzzed everybody was on world events. It's like the whole country was on a mind riot... Without getting too deeply into it... that's more or less what I remember thinking.
Focusing on the painting itself: I love the black and white... it lends a kind of early animation look to it.
For some reason the hands kinda remind of the early disney toons, which works well when you consider the content.
Very cool. Very smooth... FAV!
Thanks man, I appreciate it. And yeah, mind riot is a real good description.

There is no way to measure an artist, or their work, because nothing matters, but their vision. Their acceptance by the rest of the world is merely external.

i like that you made him look faceless and mechanical too, it really conveys a sense of distance and defensive coldness.
