Oil on masonite (6-3/4" x 11")

This is another older work of mine, and a little more fairy tail like than my usual works. I have no idea when I did it, but I'm pretty sure it's pre-2000. I never finished glazing it in color, and I probably won't, but I've always kinda liked it, so here it is.

Normally, I paint on the smooth side of masonite, but if you look close, you can see the cloth-like texture. I gave it several coats of primer, to fill in some of the weave, so that it wouldn't be too rough to paint on.

You know, this scene would work well created as animation in 3D software. :)
I really like this, you should try doing more like it. :iconyesyesyesplz:

I also like the colour scheme as is, but the subtlety and richness of the existing glazes makes one wonder what it would look like finished. . .

There is no way to measure an artist, or their work, because nothing matters, but their vision. Their acceptance by the rest of the world is merely external.
Thanks Shunter, and thanks for the fav too.

I'm not sure I understand, but thank you Hunter. I'm not very knowledgeable on 3D software.

Couldn't you see clouds drifting lazily as the mouse floats in from the mountains? The goose lands in time for the friends to greet each other as the tentacles twitter about. It would be whimsical fun and the style of your characters could work quite well. Just thinking :boogie:
