Touched (and I don't mean in the head)

Wed Jul 1, 2009, 5:28 PM
As some of you probably know, I'm not a Christian, or even a believer. The other night, my wife introduced me to a new song that has really touched me, and I would like you to hear it, not to mention, it has a very artsy video. To me, it speaks volumes about human nature. Let me know how you feel about it. Here is the YouTube [link]

I'm a fan of Regina Spektor and you can see why; She has a knack for lyrics. Not only that, but she's got a great voice that she brings out with her unique music and singing style.

God can be so hilarious
Ha ha

Yes she does. Unfortunately for me, this is the only song of hers that really stands out to me. But still, I agree, she has a great voice, and a unique style. Thank you very much for stopping by.

There is no way to measure an artist, or their work, because nothing matters, but their vision. Their acceptance by the rest of the world is merely external.

Cool song, interesting words. I was an Atheist for a long time and my favorite word used to be coincidence! :D
:iconjeff1966:
Hey Bill, I'm glad you liked the song. Thanks for stopping by. I started off as Christian, and turned atheist. Without trying to start a discussion on this subject, I think the word coincidence is perfect.

Don't worry Jeff I don't lecture people on religion and morality. I think it's a personal choice that you share with like minded people.
:iconjeff1966:
LOL Yeah, me neither. I will discuss it, if someone tries to push it on me. But most of the time, neither side scores points. Good day to you Bill. You're a good friend, and a great artist.

The singer appears to assume that non-believers will turn to a higher power in their darkest moments ... from personal experience, I have not seen this happen. I have witnessed a dying atheist become more atheist in their final days ... I have also witnessed a believer become more fervent in their final days

We each have our own beliefs and we are each entitled to make our own minds up, though for me, evidence either way is hard to come by ;-)

I have to agree wholeheartedly. Still though, great song, don't you think? Even if she is generalize a great deal.
